In the Name of Pride

The other day I had a friend of mine ask me “What have you done recently that you are proud of?” The first thought that came to mind was: I started my own business. I opened my mouth to speak this thought and stopped, because I realized the question wasn’t what one thing have I done, rather, what have I done. Then the word proud struck me as not quite the right word to use in answering, so I answered the question this way: It is not so much that I am just proud, rather that I take pride in what I do, because I have been blessed with the ability to do it. From helping others, to starting a business, to being a good person to those in my life.

Pride doesn’t have to be individually focused though, a person has the ability to join in with others and take pride on a greater level, from pride in their neighborhood, community, county, and their state, to pride in the country in which they live, which in my case is Pride in being an American.

It all has to start somewhere though, and that is from within. Pride is a feeling that wells up in us and spurns us forward. It is an energy that infuses our being and fuels our passion. Pride is that voice that cheers us on.

One of the things that I take great pride in, is the amazing state in which I was born, and where I live now; Delaware. It is this pride that fueled my desire to start my own business, based upon the pride I share with others from my state. This mighty state with the single area code (302) that has the honor of being the First State.

The time is now my fellow Delawareans, get out there and show the world your pride in the 302.

About delaware302
Delaware 302 is more than an online clothing store. It's about giving Delawareans a way to express their pride about being from, or even just living in, the First State. Whether you're wearing it or displaying it on your vehicle - let the world see you are Delaware proud. But you don't have to be born here to "represent" the 302.
